- Content & Experience Optimization
- Premium UX: Lead merchandising for top pages, category pages, and custom brand features to
ensure a luxury shopping experience consistent with Clarins' brand identity
- Best-in-Class PDPs: Direct the development of Product Detail Pages (PDP), focusing on high-quality
visuals, product benefits & RTB (Reason to Believe), ingredient storytelling, and "How-to" or
“Problem Solving” content.
- Search Excellence: Optimize platform-specific SEO and site-search performance to dominate
internal rankings.
- Traffic Acquisition & Media Performance
- Precision Marketing: Plan and execute platform-specific media (e.g., RPP, search ads), including
keyword harvesting, bid management, and creative rotation.
- Strategic Media Execution: Plan event-driven media strategies with a balanced perspective:
achieving short-term ROI targets during major sales festivals while securing long-term growth
through New-to-Brand (NTB) acquisition.
- Vendor & Fulfillment Management
- Agency Lead: Provide clear creative briefing and strategic direction to 3rd party vendors responsible
for content creation, creative design, and operational registration. Ensure high-quality output and
on-time delivery through rigorous performance and progress management.
- B2C Delivery Oversight: Coordinate with fulfillment partners and 3PL to ensure smooth B2C
delivery operations, maintaining high delivery SLAs and customer satisfaction.
- Analytics & Financial Operations
- Data-Driven Insights: Monitor performance and conduct deep-dive "post-mortems" after major
events to iterate on future strategies.
- Financial Reconciliation: Perform monthly sales reconciliation between platform reports and
internal systems to ensure data integrity.
- Cost Management: Execute and track monthly cost accruals and spending (Media, Commission,
GWP) in alignment with the budget and Finance guidelines.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Governance
- Internal Synergy:
o Cross-Functional Planning: Collaborate with the Marketing team for creative assets and
promotional kit planning, and the Supply Chain team for inventory forecasting and
replenishment.
o Compliance: Collaborate with Legal/Regulatory to ensure all digital content and claims
comply with internal standards and the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act ().
- Multi-Platform Support & Synergy:
o Platform Expansion & Support: Provide operational and strategic support across diverse eretail
ecosystems to ensure seamless execution of cross-platform campaigns and
operational excellence.
o Knowledge Sharing: Act as a key contributor in sharing platform-specific best practices and
consumer insights to elevate the brand's overall digital performance.
- Brand Governance:
o Ensure all content, promotional banners, and communication adhere strictly to Clarins’
global brand guidelines and "Tone of Voice" across all e-retail touchpoints to maintain a
premium luxury positioning.
- Regional Collaboration (Global Alignment)
- Strategic Liaison: Liaise with the Regional E-Retail Team for strategic alignment and to gain broader
market insights.
- Best Practice Integration: Adapt and apply global e-commerce best practices to the Japanese eretail
market.
- CANDIDATE PROFILE
1. Work Experience & Background
- 5+ years of experience in managing and operating external e-commerce platformsRakuten)
Experience in Consumer Goods/Beauty industry preferred)
- Experience in planning and executing promotional campaigns and marketplace sales
strategies
- Experience in data-driven e-commerce sales management and KPI monitoring (Sales target
achievement, conversion rate improvement, LTV optimization, etc.)
- Project management experience (Launching new e-commerce stores, planning, and executing
promotional campaigns)
2. Technical Skills & Expertise
- Knowledge and experience in marketplace operations
- Data analysis skills (Utilizing Excel for sales analysis and KPI management)
- Understanding of SEO, e-commerce platform UI/UX optimization, and brand page
enhancement
- Basic knowledge of digital marketing (Search Ads, Social Media Ads, Display Advertising, etc.)
3. Language Skills
- Business-level Japanese (Ability to negotiate, create reports, and conduct presentations)
- Fluency in business English (Ability to handle emails, meetings, and negotiations with regional
teams)
4. Competencies (Behavioral & Leadership Skills)
- Strategic Thinking & Leadership – Ability to develop and execute e-commerce growth strategies
- Data-Driven Decision Making – Analyze sales and customer data to identify challenges and
