We are looking for a IT Specialist based in Sydney, Australia. 

 

About the Job

Working alongside the Regional IT Team, the IT Specialist will provide day-to-day assistance and troubleshooting for end users and oversee all IT hardware, IT infrastructure and Applications to support smooth business operations in accordance with cybersecurity and company policies, and local data privacy and protection laws. The IT Specialist also plays a key role in managing regional and central-driven initiatives in line with Clarins’ strategic roadmap.

 

Desktop / End-User & Application Support

  • Providing day to day support for staff (in office & stores) in resolving common issues such as hardware issues, network connectivity (e.g., LAN/Wi-Fi, VPN), printer setup and troubleshooting etc., on Windows and iOS/MacOS systems, as well as Android/iOS mobile devices.
  • Enacting basic software installation and updates
  • Local Application Support – Clienteling, BI & Reporting, Automation/AI processes, EDI

 

Hardware & Infrastructure Oversight:

  • Ensuring devices are operational and tracked, including issuing replacements, managing inventory, and maintaining backup.
  • Device imaging & configuration
  • Ensuring physical security and climate contract of local server rooms.

 

Regional IT Coordination & Escalation:

  • Acting as a local liaison for issues requiring regional/central support
  • Raising tickets through key ticketing systems to assist with access and escalation (Landesk, Jira)
  • Understanding of SLAs and escalation paths
  • Good understanding of store operations landscape and how the various IT initiatives / infrastructure are deployed

 

Security, Compliance & IT Governance:

  • Ensuring antivirus, patching, and device encryption are in place and in compliance with Australian privacy laws
  • Ensure adherence to regional and global IT policies, and educating users on cybersecurity.

 

Vendor & MSP Management

  • Management of local IT vendors (service providers, hardware suppliers, copier/printer maintenance)
  • Negotiation and coordination of local hardware/software procurement within budget

 

IT Budget & Procurement

  • Forecast and manage local IT operational expenses (including budget planning & tracking)
  • Maintaining asset lifecycle plans (3–4-year refreshes) and coordinating procurement where required

 

Project Management / Local Rollouts

  • Coordinating local rollouts of regional/central initiatives, e.g., Windows 11 deployment, hardware upgrades etc., including tracking local timelines, risks, and user adoption metrics
  • Act as point person for pilot testing or user acceptance testing in the Australian Head Office

 

IT Strategy & Roadmap

  • Ensure local decisions, vendors/suppliers, and tools, align with corporate standards and strategic roadmap
  • Act as a conduit between local users and regional/central to feed local needs into regional/global planning (e.g., latency issues, user satisfaction, regulatory gaps)

 

About you:

  • Extensive experience in IT support, including managing software and hardware requirements, device imaging and configuration, and inventory monitoring.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with strong customer focus
  • Highly proficient in use and troubleshooting of Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, etc.)
  • Advanced skills in providing end-user support and troubleshooting for Windows and iOS devices (laptops and mobile devices)
  • Strong background in managing, implementing and deploying infrastructure technologies (Windows Server, LAN/WAN)
  • Experience using ticketing systems such as Landesk and Jira.
  • Familiar with ITIL and COBIT
  • Experience working with BI & Reporting tools is a plus
