We are looking for a General Ledger and Tax Manager, APAC, based in Singapore.  

 

About the Job:

 

Mission 1: Tax Compliance

  • Manage and review filings for corporate income tax, GST/VAT, withholding taxes and other statutory tax filings across APAC. 
  • Monitor tax payments, tax provisions, and deferred tax positions.  Prepare tax computations, schedules, annual tax reporting (IFRS tax provisions) and supporting workings aligned to the general ledger and financial statements.
  • Ensure timely submission of tax returns, payments, and statutory filings across assigned entities. 
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess impact on the business.

 

Mission 2: GL & Data Analysis

  • Perform GL-level analysis to identify tax-sensitive transactions and ensure correct tax treatment.
  • Review journal entries, account mappings, and tax-related postings to ensure consistency with tax regulations.
  • Support month-end and year-end close by providing tax accruals, provisions, and true-ups.
  • Work closely with Accounting and Finance teams to resolve discrepancies between tax and financial records.

 

Mission 3: Business tax advisory

  • Provide corporate tax input on new transactions.
  • Provide support on customs/VAT/GST modeling.
  • Support new e-invoicing and e-reporting implementations.

 

Mission 4: Transfer Pricing

  • Support the implementation of the group’s transfer pricing policy in APAC, in coordination with the group tax team.
  • Monitor intercompany transactions.
  • Prepare documentation and reporting requirements.
  • Quarterly and yearly TNMM computation for APAC

 

Mission 5: Audits & Disputes

  • Act as the primary point of contact for tax audits, tax agents, and tax authorities.
  • Proactively analyse and respond to tax audit queries, including drafting technical explanations and reconciliations, in coordination with local teams and HQ.
  • Extract transactional and master data directly from ERP systems (e.g. Workday, Infor M3, Cegid etc) to support audits.
  • Prepare detailed reconciliations between tax returns, GL, sub-ledgers, and source documents.
  • Coordinate and track audit requests, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely closure.

 

Mission 6: Process Improvement & Risk Management

  • Implement controls to mitigate tax risks; monitor legislative changes.
  • Establish and maintain tax documentation, audit trails, and standard working templates
  • Improve tax data extraction, reconciliation processes, and audit readiness.
  • Support internal controls related to tax compliance and reporting.

 

Mission 7: Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Finance, Accounting, FP&A, group tax team and external tax advisors.
  • Provide tax guidance to business and finance teams on transactions and operational matters.
  • Support management with tax-related analysis, risks, and exposures.

 

 

About You: 

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance/Tax; CPA/CA/ACCA or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years in tax roles (big 4 or multinational environment), ideally in APAC-focused positions, with exposure to accounting, corporate tax, international tax and transfer pricing. 
  • Experience in consumer goods/cosmetics industry.
  • Proficient in accounting & business intelligence software (e.g. Workday, Info M3, MS Office, Power Automate, Power Desktop, JDE, Infor M3, Workday, Cognos, and/or Hyperion).
  • Experience coordinating with external advisors and supporting multi-market tax processes
  • Expertise in Singapore tax code and familiar with other APAC regulations.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and tax software.
