We are looking for a Senior Retail Trainer, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
About the Job
The Senior Retail Trainer will be responsible for driving training strategy, capability development, and service excellence across skincare and makeup. Leads coaching, talent development and cross-functional alignments to achieve business KPIs and strengthen brand standards.
Travel Weightage – 20% outstation travelling
Mission 1: Beauty & Service Training Design & Delivery
- Lead and deliver classroom & in-store training on product knowledge, product demonstration (skincare & makeup), and service skills.
- Customize and localize Global and Regional training materials, and evaluate training effectiveness post-session.
- Develop and execute strategic training and coaching plans based on business priorities, store performance, KPI trends, and capability gaps to ensure optimization of training resources.
- 70% time spent on field conducting (including out-station) and structured coaching to embed product, skill and service protocols to ensure consistent execution and measurable improvement at store level.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales and CRM teams to identify capability gaps, process inefficiencies, and operational challenges thus recommend and implement practical solutions to improve overall store and staff performance.
- Setting clear service and grooming standards, and monitoring customer service quality, consultation excellence, makeup standards, and store presentation.
- Conduct strategic store visits to observe customer behavior and purchase patterns, coaching and motivating teams at point of sale to ensure effective execution of product storytelling, sales pitch, and the CARE selling journey.
- Own training governance by completing training reports, analyzing feedback and performance, and provide recommendations to enhance training content, coaching methods, and tools.
- Support beauty workshops and PR events to ensure training readiness and consistent brand representation in driving customer engagement and sales performance.
Mission 2: Sales & KPI management (NPS / BCS and Customer Service Skills)
- Drive sales capability and performance by embedding key KPI mindsets (ATV, IPT, Conversion) into structured training frameworks, in-store and classroom product, makeup, and selling skills training, and performance feedback to improve sales conversion and support strong NPS results.
- Partner with the Retail Manager and Sales & Operations Manager to align training strategy with business objectives, elevating service standards, team engagement, and consistent execution to achieve store KPIs and deliver sustained year-on-year growth against target.
- Measure and optimise training and service effectiveness through KPI trends, NPS insights, and field observations, leveraging data to continuously refine strategies and maximize business result.
Mission 3: People & Business Management
- Effectively manage stakeholders with positive and growth mindset.
- Strategic in transitioning business ideation into practical training agenda using great influencing skills to motivate frontliners.
- Ensure successful implementation of Clarins Beauty Journey and provide developmental opportunities to frontliners.
- Identify high-potential talent and support career progression through development plans, mentoring, and succession planning to build a strong leadership pipeline.
- Manage training resources, scheduling, and compliance, ensuring readiness for product launches, campaigns, and key events while maximizing operational efficiency.
Other responsibilities may be added to the above, which are consistent with the role of SENIOR RETAIL TRAINER
About you:
Education/Degree or equivalent:
- Minimum SPM, Diploma/ Bachelor degree in business related qualification
Background including total years of experience:
- 4-5 years of working experience in the beauty industry with or without make up skill.
Soft and Leadership Skills :
- Selling and Customer Service related skills
- Organizational skills, public speaking and instructional design and delivery skills
- Versatile and high adaptation to fluid business landscape
- Proven ability to provide guidance and strong technical knowledge in ning delivery
- Creative, interactive and impactful training delivery methods
Technical Skills:
- Power Point, Excel and Microsoft
Languages:
- English, Mandarin or Cantonese and Bahasa Malaysia
