Your Impact
At Clarins, finance plays a vital role not only in operational excellence but also in shaping the strategic direction of our business. As Senior Finance Manager, you will take ownership of the country’s finance function—including core accounting, FP&A, cash flow and controls—while being empowered by regional expertise and outsourced support in areas such as tax, legal, audit, IT, and procurement. This is a high-impact, cross-functional leadership role ideal for an agile, hands-on finance leader looking to drive business performance in a fast-paced beauty and retail environment.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Business Partnering

Serve as a key advisor to the General Manager and senior leadership, providing financial insights, risk assessments and commercial recommendations.

Lead the budgeting, forecasting and rolling forecast process in alignment with regional and business objectives.

Guide investment decisions through ROI modelling and scenario planning for key projects (e.g. new store openings, pricing strategies, cost optimizations).

Drive operational KPIs and partner closely with sales, marketing and supply chain teams to support growth.
Finance Operations, Reporting & Controls

Oversee day-to-day finance operations: general ledger, AP/AR, monthly close, treasury, and working capital (DSO, DPO, DSI).

Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports and ensure timely submission to the regional and global teams.

Lead internal controls, audit readiness, and accurate statutory filings.

Streamline cost and reporting processes with a strong focus on efficiency and governance.

Supervise procurement oversight and coordinate with supply chain on inventory accuracy.
Legal, Audit, Tax & IT Support (via Regional/Outsourced Model)

Act as local coordinator between Malaysia entity and regional/legal teams for corporate governance, contract review and compliance.

Support statutory audit and corporate tax filings with external providers and regional tax experts.

Collaborate with APAC IT team on infrastructure support and system upgrades, ensuring operational continuity across office, retail, and eCommerce channels.
People Leadership

Lead, mentor and upskill a small team including the Business Controller and Finance Executive.

Establish clear KPIs and foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement and collaboration.

Ensure smooth team operations and succession planning during the contract period.
About You
Education & Certification
-
Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business; CA/CPA certified preferred
Experience
-
10–15 years of progressive finance leadership experience
-
Strong exposure to commercial finance, FP&A and strategic business partnering
-
Background in retail, FMCG, or consumer goods preferred
-
Experience in handling project-based roles or interim leadership responsibilities is a plus

Confident working in a matrix structure with regional support

Data-driven, detail-oriented, and commercially minded
Tools & Technical Skills

Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, ERP systems (SAP or similar), Power BI is a plus

Familiar with IFRS/local GAAP and compliance frameworks

Fluent in English; Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, or Cantonese a plus
