The role:
This role is crucial in ensuring a safe working environment for all employees, contractors and visitors, minimising workplace accidents and incidents and ensuring full compliance with relevant UK legislation. Responsible for the proactive management of all Health and Safety, Fire Safety and Transport Safety matters, including policy implementation, monitoring and inspection, risk assessment, method statements and safe working regulations.
What you’ll do:
Health & Safety Leadership
- Champion a behaviour-based safety culture and promote proactive H&S attitudes across the site
- Develop, implement and maintain H&S policies and procedures in line with legislation and Clarins corporate standards
- Conduct regular risk assessments, audits and inspections
- Lead the Health & Safety Committee and ensure contractor safety compliance
- Integrate H&S into all capital and operational projects from planning stage
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable H&S regulations and internal policies
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, permits, audits and statutory data
- Oversee COSHH, RIDDOR, fire drills, MSDS management and regulatory reporting
- Serve as the main liaison with authorities and external advisors
Accident & Incident Management
- Lead investigations into all accidents, near misses and safety breaches
- Ensure high-quality reporting and root cause analysis, with follow-up action plans
Training & Development
- Deliver engaging training and toolbox talks to staff and contractors
- Ensure all mandatory training (fire, first aid, manual handling, etc.) is current and effective
Security Oversight
- Manage outsourced security and stock loss prevention measures
- Monitor site access, CCTV and asset protection in line with role profiles
You have :
- NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent (essential)
- Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and best practices
- Experience in logistics, warehousing, or distribution environments
- Excellent communication, auditing, and training delivery skills
- Confident in managing stakeholders, regulatory bodies and external contractors
