Core Responsibilities
- Territory & Strategic Management
- Design and optimize call cycles using Skynamo and other CRM tools to maximize coverage and conversion.
- Develop annual and quarterly territory growth strategies (competitor analysis, opportunity forecasting).
- Benchmark area and cross-area performance; allocate resources to prioritize high-impact stores .
- Advanced People Leadership
- Lead, coach and develop Beauty Coaches across the territory; oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, succession planning and career development.
- Schedule and manage staffing requirements
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance Beauty Coach skills and career progression.
- Partner with HR/IR on performance management, disciplinary actions and retention strategies; deliver mid-year and year-end reviews with development plans.
- Strategic Sales Management
- Own targets and sales responsibility: drive revenue growth and profitability while managing returns and stock.
- Use analytics (Re-Cap, Weekly Files, CRM insights) to forecast trends and create actionable performance plans.
- Negotiate merchandising expansions, in-store Second Point Of Sale and strategic partnerships to exceed targets.
- Lead weekly/monthly performance reporting and audits; implement corrective actions where required.
- Marketing Plan Execution & Events
- Execute national and regional marketing plans, including new product launches and in-store activations.
- Identify and coordinate event opportunities (product demos, pop-ups, Make Overs) to drive footfall and new customer acquisition.
- Measure event ROI and integrate learnings into territory planning in collaboration with Trade Marketing Manager.
- Stakeholder & Market Leadership
- Build and maintain retail relationships; lead joint business reviews and negotiate shared growth initiatives.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends; deliver strategic insights to mitigate threats and seize opportunities.
- Lead cross-functional action plans with Analytics, Training, Trade OPS and Marketing to resolve issues and implement initiatives.
- Stock, Supply Chain & Merchandising Optimization
- Enforce stock protocols: promotional allocations, damages, credits/returns and counters and drawers organization.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain to prevent OOS and improve replenishment cycles.
- Ensure best-in-class merchandising and visual standards across all doors; deliver merchandising training and compliance audits.
- Finance, ROI & Resource Management
- Manage territory budgets and expense allocations (cell, petrol, events); forecast and control financial variances.
- Track promotion/event ROI and adjust investment to maximize profitability and acquisition.
- Process, Compliance & Risk Governance
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Policy, company policies and legislative requirements.
- Drive risk mitigation, ensure data integrity in reporting and own ad-hoc executive reporting and special projects.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Sell-out target achievement : monthly/annual YoY growth.
- Territory coverage: call cycle compliance
- Team performance: Beauty Coach KPI attainment
- Merchandising standards: visual/standards compliance.
- Marketing & events: on-time launches; ROI on promotions/events.
- Financials: Budget adherence
- Strategic outcomes: highest growth YoY in top 10 and BC stores ; actionable insights drive in generic doors.
Skills & Experience Required
- 5–8+ years in retail sales with progressive responsibility; 3+ years in managerial role.
- Proven strategic sales leadership with targets and sales accountability.
- Advanced skills in negotiation, data analytics, reporting and executive communication.
- Deep knowledge of the beauty/cosmetic industry, merchandising and marketing execution.
- Matric certificate required; degree in Business, Marketing or related field preferred.
Preferred
- Experience in cosmetics trend forecasting, large-scale event management and territory leadership.
- Familiarity with retail CRM/trade systems (Skynamo or equivalent), SAP basics and advanced Excel/BI tools.
